Fix the Error: iTunes Not Responding in Windows 7

Windows 7 users face this error frequently. Its quite annoying to wait for the program to respond. We all know that iTunes is an application made by Apple while Windows 7 is a hallmark of Microsoft. Create a New User Account

If the user account in Windows 7 is corrupt, it may cause iTunes to malfunction. Follow these steps to create a new account:

  • Click on Start
  • Open Control Panel
  • Click on User Accounts icon
  • Click on Create a New Account
  • Enter the name of the account
  • Grant Admin rights to this new account
  • Logoff the current account and login into newly created account
  • Now try to run iTunes

Install Latest Version of iTunes

Using an outdated version of iTunes also results in iTunes response errors in Windows 7. By downloading and installing a latest version of iTunes we may fix the problem. Follow procedure stated below:

  • Go to Control Panel
  • Click on Programs and Features
  • Uninstall the following programs
  • * iTunes
  • * Bonjour
  • * Quick Time
  • On completion of process reboot your PC
  • Download latest version of iTunes
  • Install it
  • Now run iTunes

Repair iTunes Registry Entries

Corrupt or broken registry entries can be behind this error. You need to repair corrupt entries in order to bring iTunes back to work.

Easiest way of fixing corrupt registry entries is to download and install System Utilities software that includes Registry Cleaner. One such repair tool is PC Fresher System Utilities.
