Sims 3 Error 0x039e8474


When playing Sims 3 in Windows 8.1/8/7, Vista and XP, you may encounter the following error:

Error 0x039e8474: Unable to start the game. Service initialization failed 

Follow the steps given below to fix it.

Ensure Minimum System Requirements

Check to see if your system meets minimum system requirement for playing Sims 3.

FOR WINDOWS 8.1/8/Vista/7 & XP

2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
1.5 GB RAM
128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1
At least 6.1 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB of additional space for custom content and saved games

Delete Sims 3 Cache

Sim3 Error 0x039e8474 can be due to corrupted files in cache. Try following steps to remove cache.

1. Start | Documents
2. EA Games | The Sims 3
3. Remove Groups.cache and Vigen.package and if extensions are hidden then uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" from Tools>>Folder Options and view. After that click on Apply
4. OK
