Application Error 501 BIOS Fix

Your computer may show you Application Error 501. A message may also appear telling HP BIOS Application selected is corrupted/ missing and thus you have to reinstall it and then try again.


There are several ways of solving this problem. They are given below:

1. Diagnose your Drivers
2. Disable HP QuickLook 2
1. Diagnose your Drivers
Corrupt driver files can cause this problem. Application error 501 BIOS fix is to download your driver diagnostic tool and repair them properly. The steps are given below:

1. Visit HP Drivers website.
2. Click Drivers and Softwares.
3. You’ll be asked to type your Netbook Type. For example: HP Mini 110-3500.
4. Follow the instructions on your screen and select your operating system.
5. Click Diagnostic link.
6. HP System Diagnostic will start.
7. Download Hireen’s Boot CD as well.
8. Copy files from your Windows installation disc to a USB Flash Drive that you have. (The USB Flash Drive must have storage  capacity equivalent to your Windows installation disc.)
9. Run HP System Diagnostic that you just downloaded.
10. Connect another USB Flash Drive. If it asks you to select a drive for installation, select it. (It can be 1 GB.)
11. Insert Hireen’s Boot CD in your CD/ DVD Drive.
12. Launch MiniXP.
13. Click PartitionWizard and make a logical partition. The file system should be FAT32 and the allocated size shall be 1 GB.)
14. Type a name for the drive.
15. Connect your 1 GB USB Flash Drive. (The second one you used in Step 10)
16. Restart the machine.
17. Connect your first USB Flash Drive (which was used in the Step 8 above) and boot from it by configuring your CMOS settings.
18. Copy Windows installation files to your hard disk drive.
19. Safely remove the USB Flash Drive.
20. Restart the machine and boot it using Hireen’s Boot CD.
21. Select Windows 7 (BootMgr) and install it.
22. Follow the on screen instructions.

Disable HP QuickLook 2
Application error 501 BIOS fix is to disable HP QuickLook 2 as shown below:

1. Restart your computer.
2. Press F2 or Delete key of your keyboard.
3. Select System Configurations | Device Configurations | HP QuickLook 2.
4. Disable this option.
5. Press F10 to save the settings and exit.
6. Your system shall restart now.
